Hardwick Parks is positively surrounded with things, places and experiences just bursting to be visited – from the fascinating and famous, or the beautiful and bustling, to the simply awe-inspiring, it’s all there waiting to be discovered!
So, how about……………………………
Animals – there’s penguins to be fed at Cotswold Wildlife Park, all sorts of farm animals to make friends with at Cogges Manor Farm and, talking of farms, visit the Victorian working rural life museum and see how it really used to be in the countryside!
Some fun, fun, fun – pop on down to Legoland, it’s amazing.
Shop ‘till you drop – there’s everything from famous names at factory prices to be snapped up at the mega Great Western Retail Park in Swindon, through even more to tempt at Kassam Stadium in Oxford (that’s also brimming with all manner of boutiques and stores offering just about everything), to delightful Burford awash with antique shops………….browse through craft fairs, even the odd car boot sale!
Explore – and immerse yourself in the magnificent Cotswold countryside, littered with unexpected vistas, hidden villages and quite the most pleasing historic collection of famous small towns in all England!
Back to Nature – Hardwick Parks has 180 acres of lakes and parkland to loose yourself in, then there’s always Waterperry Gardens, Oxford’s botanical gardens and Westonbirt Arboretum for starters….
Take the Culture Trail – the real challenge is actually getting round even a fraction of everything there is to marvel at – there’s the famous colleges, libraries, museums and the endless architectural beauty of Oxford itself; you’ll be spoilt for choice with the wealth of stately homes and gardens to visit, then there’s the ultimate, Blenheim Palace!! Want a contrast, how about the fascinating railway collection at Didcot.
Wet Stuff – Hardwick Parks’ turbocharged watersports lake, what else? Well, actually you could try something a little more gentle, a narrow boat trip on the Thames perhaps or even discovering the Thames Path Walking Trail as well as some particularly fine hostelries conveniently dotted along the way! Bye the way, the park’s in the midst of some of the finest coarse or trout fishing lakes in the country and next door to the local Sailing Club!.
Get physical – yet again, Hardwick Parks Watersports lake has to be tops – the adrenalin rush is included free of charge! You could also visit The Wave or Oasis Leisure Centre. The park’s a brilliant mountain biking base and you’re not far for golf.
Watch others getting physical – a day at the races maybe; there’s Cheltenham, Newbury and Ascot to choose from; watch a game of polo, have a picnic at Blenheim horse trials, cheer at a football match, see Fairford’s world famous air show, take in motor racing at Silverstone or banger racing that’s within walking distance. You could just chill to the sound of leather on willow at the village cricket club!
